"A simple, highly effective common sense approach that really does break new ground in parenting."
I have often heard children say such things as:
"I'm not good enough to win that..."
or
"I'm not as clever or as quick as..."
If I was to tell you that I can give you a tool that will only take you a few minutes at bedtime to do and that it can bring changes that will last a life time for your child, would you want to know more?
My work with this program began in 2008 when I learnt that Joane Goulding was coming over from Australia to teach therapists in the Uk this positive parenting technique. As soon as I heard that this was something that I was going to be able to teach to parents for them to follow themselves at home I knew that I had to take part.
Today as I see how this program is helping so many different families I can not praise the work of Joane Goulding enough.
I use this technique with parents to empower them, teach them about positive reinforcement, the importance of social interaction with young children and the use of positive language.
Many people that I meet comment on how positive I am or they will often say that I am full of passion and enthusiam about my work. My answer is how can I not be ?
I have in my tool box a technique that I can pass on to parents to help them empower their children and help them to deal with their emotions and behaviours.
SleepTalk™ allows your child to be the most that they can be. Every child is perfect in their own way. You can help them see their true beauty and abilities and encourage them to shine.
I have always loved children and the complete innocence that they have which has always led me to work with them whether it be within a childcare setting in my early career through to more recent years working within a primary school and supporting a child with additonal needs.
I have to say that in the most recent years I have noticed something.
Some children are struggling.
I would often hear children saying that they didnt want to take part in a game as they were scared of losing. Some children would sit and discuss their home life with eachother while they tried to figure out who they were and what was happening in their home life. Some children were simply lacking in confidence in their school work and therefore not working towards their full potential.
Research *****Goleman, (1995) recognises that when children compare themselves with peers and a competitive air is apparent, for example through competitive sports or academic tests, enzymes in the brain are produced that can interfere with concentration and classroom behaviour.*****
There just seems a lot more peer pressure for young children now and I am amazed how within the last 5 years or so research suggests that children seem alot more stressed. Perhaps this is no shock as we have been living in a fast paced society in the recent years. Children pick up on their parents stresses when they lose their jobs, are moving house, seperating or are worrying about money.
Research *****Many people may wonder what children have to worry about but with 1 in 5 children now diagnosed with mental health problems, the numbers speak for themselves (British Medical Association 2006, Office of National Statistics 2004, The Telegraph 2009)*****
Mary, parent & teacher in Cheshire was delighted when after 3 weeks of using the parenting tool at home with her little boy, he started to calm & seem more self assured.
"I just wanted to say that since doing SleepTalk the whole family has noticed an improvement in my son's behaviour. It is hard to believe that with so little time and effort our daily lives have improved so much. F is a much calmer boy now- we love it!"

SleepTalk™ Frequently Questions
- Q1. Does SleepTalk™ help my children get to sleep?
No, not directly. SleepTalk™ is a Self Esteem program that reinforces your love for your children at the subconscious level. Indirectly, if you child feels more happy and secure then yes, they will sleep easier.
- Q2. So SleepTalk™ is done while my child sleeps. Why?
When your child is asleep it is possible to bypass the 'conscious' critical mind and directly access the your child's subconscious mind. The subconscious is the part of the mind that is literal and accepts things as fact. By accessing the subconscious mind where the child’s self belief is developed predominantly, you as a parent are able to deliver positive messages to counter act any negative beliefs that may have been developed already. Through doing this loving exercise each and every night you are allowing your child’s subconscious mind to “hear” what you are saying. As the subconscious mind is where every emotion and memory is stored, you are going to have more of a positive impact on your child’s belief that he or she is unconditionally loved rather than just telling them on a conscious level. During the day you will become more aware of any positive or negative words that you are using and this will make you even more effective with your communication. The process not only creates happy children but also happy parents and happy families too! Therefore you are going to be delivering positive messages both on a conscious and subconscious level to your child to help them develop a positive belief system. And as many of us know, once we have the “I CAN” attitude, the world really is our oyster”
- Q3. It sounds like hypnosis, is it?
No, it is not hypnosis, but there are similarities. Both processes are about accessing the subconscious that part of the mind where almost instant change can occur. However, hypnosis occurs in a waking, aware state. SleepTalk occurs while the child sleeps. While SleepTalk™ is not hypnosis, SleepTalk™ was developed by a leading Australian Master Hypnotist, and Hypnotherapy Educator, using the knowledge that she had of the subconscious mind.
- Q4. What ages does SleepTalk™ suit?
It is suited for families with children aged 18 months to 12 or so years of age.
- Q5. Who is SleepTalk™ suited to?
It is suitable for all children from gifted to challenged. Many parents have found that children with a range of issues will improve dramatically with SleepTalk™. Even the most balanced child will benefit from having a deep unconscious knowledge and belief that they are loved completely and unconditionally.
- Q6. I tell my child I love them. Why do I need SleepTalk™?
Yes, it is important to tell them they are loved. The conscious mind will hear you but the subconscious mind may disagree. For example, if both parents work, the child may get very upset and cry when the parents leave for work. You tell the child you love them and you will be home soon, but most children will naturally worry that you may never return.
- Q7. How long do you need to follow the Sleeptalk programme for for maximum results?
It is recommended to follow the programme for up to at least 3 months. You will receive ongoing support via phone or email from Jenny Harrison.
- Q8. What is involved in the learning of the programme?
Both parents are encouraged to attend. For One-on-One Consultations with a coach, allow 2 hours for the first consultation. Following this meeting there will be a second consulation where a support programme will be developed. Further consulations will be arranged on a periodical basis if needed.
